Roadworks near airport from next month

Passengers using East Midlands Airport have been warned about roadworks on the M1 near the airport from the middle of next month. The disruption will last from from the middle of January until late March.
Resurfacing work on the southbound side of the M1 motorway is to begin at junction 24 near Kegworth, going south to Junction 23A. The work will begin on on January 15 and take nine weeks to complete.
Access to the roundabout will be closed when work is being undertaken overnight, between 21:00 and 06:00. The road will be open during the day, but there will only be one lane available heading south whilst the resurfacing work is being done.
During times when access is limited, drivers will have to follow diversion routes, which will either use local roads or the M1 between junctions 23 and 25. During the daytime, the junction will be fully reopened.
