Passengers who arrived at East Midlands Airport on Ryanair flight from Italy were detained for three hours today following a health scare. About 150 people on the flight from Pisa, which landed just after 18:00 today, were held in an airport building after it emerged a boy on board had chicken pox.
The passengers were interviewed by a team from Leicestershire Health Authority before being allowed to go through immigration and customs. A subsequent flight from the airport using the aircraft was cancelled as the plane was being inspected by the health authority.
