Airport holds 'green week'
29.09.08
Staff at East Midlands Airport have taken part in a ‘green week’ to make small changes and to be more environmentally aware. Experts on recycling, composting and energy saving visited the airport to give staff advice on making green choices.
The airport has created ‘bug hotels’ to help encourage new habitats for wildlife around the site, and staff pledged to start car sharing and taking buses to meetings. A spokesman for the airport said: ‘The week was a fun and interactive way to get staff involved in the issues surrounding climate change and how we can all make a big difference by making small changes.’
