25 job losses announced
26.02.09
Up to 25 jobs could be lost at East Midlands Airport. Staff were told yesterday that 60 roles would be axed and 35 posts created after a review of operations by Manchester Airports Group (MAG), the airport's owner.
Geoff Muirhead, MAG Chief Executive, said a fall in passenger numbers was a key reason for the cuts. He said: ‘We expect to continue to face passenger falls in the near future, and we must respond to this.’ He added that the airport hopes to achieve the cuts through redeployment and voluntary redundancies where possible.
