19.05.11
bmibaby has announced seven new routes from the midlands for its summer 2012 schedule. The airline will operate flights to Gibraltar, Corfu, Murcia and Naples from East Midlands Airport and from Birmingham Airport to Lisbon, Rome (Fiumicino) and Barcelona.
The flights are in addition to the year-round services to Cologne from East Midlands and to Prague from Birmingham previously announced. Julian Carr, managing director of the budget airline, said: ‘These new routes are part of our expansion strategy for the Midlands. We will be basing two additional aircraft in the region from the end of our summer 2011 and will now operate a total of 45 routes from the Midlands. We are also committed to further growth from the region.’
