Small plane emergency

Emergency crews were on standby after an aircraft encountered problems near East Midlands Airport yesterday.
The pilot of the small plane reported he was having trouble and wanted to land at the airport just before 14:00. Fire crews were called out ready for the plane to land, but were not needed.
A spokesman for the airport said the pilot corrected the problem in the air. The plane then landed at its intended destination (another airport).
