Airport visit for Kenyan chaplain
15.06.08
A Kenyan chaplain is visiting East Midlands Airport as part of a tour of the UK. Grace Mangula, the chaplain of Wilson Airport in Nairobi, is attending the airport to find out more about chaplaincy and aid work at British airports.
The visit, hosted by the airport's chaplaincy team and paid for by the International Association of Airport Chaplains, is the second leg of her tour of 3 UK airports.
Chaplain Mangula said: ‘It is fantastic to be in the UK to witness the work that the airport chaplains do. As well as supporting their local community, the work that they do abroad and in countries such as Africa is really making a difference.’
The Rev Roy Monks, who leads the chaplaincy team at East Midlands, said: ‘As well as showing her around, we have taken part in special prayer sessions and explained about our aid work.’
