New York flight to take off this week
14.11.11
The first ever transatlantic passenger flight from East Midlands will take off this week. The one-off return service, which will see passengers fly to New York's Newark Airport with budget airline Jet2, will take off on Thursday with a return flight 3 days later.
Brad Miller, managing director of East Midlands Airport, said: ‘The first direct service to New York is a significant step forward. We are proud to have been able to give people from the region the chance to experience all that New York has to offer at such a magical time of year. The uptake has been superb and it really demonstrates the support the region has for transatlantic flights.’
