Three charged over big drugs find

Two men and a woman have been charged after customs officers found heroin with a street value of £600,000 at East Midlands Airport. About 6 kg of the drug was found hidden in a shipment of carpets that had been sent from Kabul in Afghanistan. The shipment was destined for an address in Whalley Range, Manchester.
Police have charged two men and one woman with conspiracy to import class A drugs. Naela Khalid, 26, of Alston Gardens, Burnage, Jhangheer Younas Ali, 28, of Waterloo Street, Glodwick and Mohsin Khan, 29, of Sharpe Street, Collyhurst are due to appear at Manchester Crown Court on 13 July. They were remanded in custody.
