Major roadworks from Wednesday

Passengers heading for East Midlands Airport are being advised to allow extra time for their journeys as major roadworks in the area begin this week.
The Highways Agency will be carrying out essential maintenance at the A453 Finger Farm Island from Wednesday (September 10). The A50 link road to the M1 will also be affected with some overnight closures. The work is expected to last until the end of September.
Karen Green, Highways Agency project manager, said: ‘We are carrying out this maintenance work at night when traffic is at the lightest but obviously this is a key roundabout used to access East Midlands Airport, Donington Park and Donington Services. We are providing as much information as we can to help people plan their journeys and arrive at their destination safely and reliably.’
