Airport hotel links up with race track

The new Radisson Blu East Midlands Airport Hotel has become Donington Park's Official Hotel Sponsor for the 2012 season. The partnership includes the renaming the 'Upper Goddards Suite' near the beginning of the Start / Finish straight to the 'Radisson Blu Hotel East Midlands Airport Suite'. The airport hotel has also named one of its new conference suites ‘The Wheatcroft Suite' in honour of the late-owner Mr Tom Wheatcroft and his son Mr Kevin Wheatcroft, owner and chairman of Donington Park.
A spokesman for the race track said it chose Radisson Blu as its hotel Sponsor after deciding it offered the best facilities in the area for the international mix of drivers, riders, engineers, team owners and race-goers the circuit attracts. The 218-room airport hotel held its official opening in November and has seen record bookings for overnight stays since.
Daniel Keane - General Manager of the Radisson Blu said: ‘It is a real compliment to be chosen as Donington Park's recommended hotel. I am sure visitors to the circuit will be very happy with their stay here.'
