Bus links up for two awards

East Midlands Airport’s bus network ‘Skylink’ has been short-listed for two awards at the National Transport Awards. The awards, now in their eighth year, recognise excellence across the transport industry in the UK and Ireland.
The East Midlands Airport Bus Partnership, which consists of the airport, 6 neighbouring county and city local authorities and 4 bus operators, has been nominated in the Transport Team / Partnership of the Year category. Over 50 groups entered this category with 7 making the shortlist, including Gatwick and Stansted Bus Partnerships.
The Skylink project is also short-listed for the Travel Information and Marketing Award for its strategic approach to boost passenger numbers by 44 percent in the last 12 months. The project was chosen above 40 other submissions and is one of 8 short-listed nominees.
