easyJet’s pull out 'will have virtually no impact’

easyJet's plans to close its East Midlands base and axe its fights will mean that only one destination – Venice - could be lost, the airport has said. However, it has 'had very positive indications from other low cost airlines that they will fill this small gap.'
The other eight routes currently operated by easyJet from East Midlands are also provided by other airlines. An airport spokesman said: 'Whilst it is disappointing to hear easyJet’s plans to leave, we would like to reassure passengers that this will have virtually no impact on the choice of low cost destinations available from East Midlands Airport.'
