New unaccompanied minors scheme for bmibaby
02.02.10
bmibaby has launched a new scheme that allows children aged 7 to 15 to travel unaccompanied on the its flights. The service will be available from all airports served by bmibaby. It becomes the only budget airline to offer this service from East Midlands Airport.
Crawford Rix, managing director of bmibaby, said: ‘We are pleased to announce the launch of our new ‘Club Solo 7215’ scheme. It will be welcome news for families, especially for those who have children in boarding schools, or who want them to visit family. We are confident that it will be very successful.’
Reservations can be made via the bmibaby call centre and once a booking has been made the parents or legal guardian take the child to the airport and check in. The child is then escorted through security by a member of staff and taken on to the aircraft. Cabin crew will ensure the child is looked after during the flight.
Upon arrival at the destination the child will be escorted through security and baggage reclaim to be met by a pre-registered adult. For more information visit www.bmibaby.com
